1. When we think of family, they are people who we love and care about and we always put them first over everything. But the book Night proves that in some scenarios there will be people who choose themselves over their own family.

2. Elie Wiesel is quite similar to the man of the Bible Job.  They both went through many trials but never lost faith in God who can bring them out of their troubles.

Dialectal Journal #2

1a. The act of making more human

  b. The behavior of these various prisoners changed when they arrived at the camps. Their behavior went from normal to horrified. They were horrified because of how they treated by the soldiers of each camp. Also each day that comes they are unsure whether or not they are going to live or die.
  c. The behavior of Eliezer was that he was very alert when it comes to his father and his own life. like the other prisoners he is in fear of dying and seeing his father die. He trys so hard to survive with his father and tries to find a way to escape.

Dialectical Journal

 1a.  For each new decree or action the German government makes, the Jews would always think that they are moving to a place better than the place they had originally. They were warned for each event that it was all a lie and that they shouldn’t fall for it. But everyone ignored those that gave warnings to the jews and had to deal with what lies ahead of them.

“You must never lose faith, even when the sword hangs over your head. That’s the teaching of our sages…” Pg. 29

2b. These quotes that I chose is very important to the story. These quotes that I chose shows how the jews were struggling and how they cried out to God and begged for mercy. The quotes also shows how the jews were told to never lose faith.

The Holocaust

 The Holocaust was a destruction or slaughter on mass amounts of people. The holocaust started on January 30th, 1933 then stopped in May 8, 1945. In the year of 1933 the european jews at that time were many in number. Until the Nazi Germans persecuted and murdered millions of the their kind. By 1945 the nazi germans killed about two-thirds of the jews as part of the Final Solution. The final solution was a plan the germans used to kill the jews.
